Nestled in the heart of Klatovy, the charming Czech town, lies the serene Mercandinovy sady or park. Positioned near the boat rental point, this idyllic retreat beckons nature enthusiasts and photography aficionados alike. The park, with its winding paths and lush greenery, provides the perfect backdrop for capturing the essence of local wildlife, particularly the delightful ducks that inhabit the nearby Volyňka River.
Wooden nativity scene on the square, Klatovy. It is said that Klatovy has a new pride in their square, a life-size wooden nativity scene. And yes, when I came here, I went to see it. Nativity scene, it's really nice, nicely crafted, and handmade like everything with us… I took a few photos and they seemed good to me, but what about that life size? I don't know, I don't know, it's like a new-born baby, maybe the ox. If it's really life size, then the oxen are a little smaller than they used to be.
A brief sojourn in the regal town of Klatovy unfolded, punctuated by a leisurely stroll through the quaint summer "dug-out" town. Despite the weathered facades of the timeworn structures, their peeling exteriors exuded a peculiar charm. Notwithstanding the antiquity that clung to the buildings, the central square offered a respite of delight, where a functioning fountain added a touch of vivacity to the surroundings.
The old railway station in Klatovy, tucked away behind Kaufland and stretching towards Luby, evokes a sense of nostalgia every time I visit. This diminutive station, once bustling with activity, now stands in a state of quiet dilapidation, whispering tales of bygone days.

For me, Klatovy's Black Tower holds a special place, a timeless structure that echoes with the laughter and adventures of my childhood. A stroll around this historic tower is more than a simple walk; it's a journey back in time, tracing the footprints of a younger version of myself.
For anyone venturing to Klatovy, a picturesque city nestled in the South Western region of the Czech Republic – and incidentally, my hometown – the defining feature that commands attention is none other than the Black Tower. Majestically positioned at the apex of 'Namesti miru' or the Square of Peace, this iconic edifice stands as a testament to the city's rich history. Notably, some individuals may also possess awareness of the enigmatic Catacombs, adding an air of mystery to the locale.
