Veveri Castle

Veveri Castle is a stunning fortress located just 12 kilometres northwest of the centre of Brno. It is one of the closest castles to the city and can easily be reached by public transport. Although I will not delve into the history of the castle, it is worth mentioning that it has been rebuilt and reconstructed following the destructive actions of the socialist-communist regime. The castle has many gates, including the Southern Gate, which is the most common entrance used by visitors.

Veveri Castle is a great place to visit for relaxation, taking photographs or even using it as a background for a photoshoot. The castle offers a breath-taking view of the surrounding landscape, and there is much to explore within the castle walls. From the castle's courtyards to the magnificent towers, visitors can immerse themselves in the rich history and architecture of the castle.

One of the most impressive parts of the castle is the Great Tower, which stands at 47 meters tall and offers a stunning panoramic view of the region. Visitors can climb up to the top of the tower and take in the breath-taking view of the surrounding countryside.

Aside from the Great Tower, the castle also boasts a range of other fascinating features, such as the castle chapel, the castle brewery, and the castle's ancient walls. The castle's gardens and grounds are also a popular spot for visitors to relax and take in the beauty of their surroundings.

Overall, Veveri Castle is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, architecture, or simply looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The castle offers a glimpse into a bygone era, while also providing stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
